TOWARDS A COMPACT MEGALOPOLIS

Rhino, Grasshopper, AI, PS

UCLA 2016 Spring Architecture Design Studio

Type: Individual Work

Instructor: Wil Carson

This project aims to create a new atmosphere through the separation of circulation within the industrial neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles. The initial ambition was to distinguish the housing complex and the neighborhood from the outside but embrace the local culture from the inside. It's a city inside an architecture and a world with many self-contained activities in addition to places of residence.  The final design tries to create a space where the politics of the architecture is closer to a city than a building.
